10:39 am - sipping from the internet firehose, or shallow am I. I've found that I've unconsciously created a filter list of articles that I will summarily ignore. It's really the only way I can process the 170+ rss subscriptions that I have. I mean no offense if these subjects are your passion, I need the bandwidth for my passions (web comics mainly). So, here goes, in no particular order:
war sports politics television paperCraft steampunk maker electronics
Which of course makes plenty of time for things like this:

08:10 am - nightmare Woke up a little last night in the middle of a sweaty nightmare. I was in a greasy spoon diner filled with patrons. Nothing really sinister except that the diner was isolated in space time. The weight of eternity bared down on me. The front door opened up to simple black space, nothing. I did what I've learned to do with these things, objectify. I committed the vision to memory, and slowly I went back to sleep.

09:24 pm - only sometimes Sometimes I feel a desert. Not, dessert, some something sweet after dinner. Don't get me wrong, deserts are gorgeous places. There's just not a lot of water and life is hard.
Sure, there's the occasional oasis, scientific expedition. The biome of a desert is rich in adaptations. The legless lizard, the jerboa, and oh, the succulents. It has its seasons.
I don't think it's a deficit. I think it's safe and sustainable. Just don't expect a lush rain forest or climaxed city state. Imagine Arrakis, the dancer.

08:09 pm - Sometimes a little science is not enough practice: custom head grease instead of commercial industrial grade medicaned flaky head.
real world: double boil them all in glass receptacle. When one color and transparency stir with a tiny silver antler. let sit, will congeal. the slower the temp change, the more even the mix.
observation: recently home brewed head grease precipitated small grain nodules after it was placed in fridge to hasten congeal.
hypethesis: for materails with liquid and solid formes in the room tepreature band between 0C to 212F (freezer to stove) a sequence of rapid temp changes creates little spheres because of relative surface tension and buoiancy as the materials cool quickly and do not have time to fully seperate from the mater liquid as a series of stacked gels.
experiment 1: Olive oil and parrafin wax, double boiled (how long? what temp?) and then placed in the fridge. Mixture 50/50 result 1: a thick film of wax over congealing olive oil. swirls of chunks of wax visible. conclusion 1: not cooling fast enough. reheat and freeze.
experiment 2: same as 1, tried to put in freezer, spilled mixture. 2+ hours cleaning it up. Not that night, but the morning after. result 2: better adhesion to procedure and protocol.

11:52 am - goodAndEvil_lockedInside_03 A process in layering disparate elements, using a limited palette, simple design, questionable taste, and a yen for the bizarre.
An experiment, on the graphic side, of the "prambled scorn" school. a terse treatise to titilation.
I present to you the goodAndEvil_lockedInside series. 8 images of thin concept and ingenuous conceit.
They're only art because I say so.
The only thing they're missing is tentacles. Hmm, that's a good idea. Tentacles.

11:00 am - Silly Test # 1299-493-ab38
Your result for Which Chess Piece are You Test?... The King's Merchant
The King's Merchant is an analyzer of situations, but function to repair problems. They prefer dealing with tangible problems and proven experience. They are naturally quiet and open to information and new approaches. Because of this they are a useful source for information. They may be introverted, but are adept at controlling interactions with others, and may be forceful concerning their influence. They focus on efficiency and skills. The balance they bring is one that encourages groups to think then act. They are capable of holding a cool head in stressful situations and help others assess the reality of any situation. They can be difficult to understand because they do need space to charge. Communication is key here; others need to realize that the King’s Merchant communicates without the need for verbal cues. The King's Merchant prefers to practice their passion in seclusion. The result however is one of virtuosity that other types find difficult to match or even out do. Because they focus highly on the task at hand they may fail to see the long term expenses. They may also not communicate their understanding of a situation having expected others to see it in their most practical way. They are valuable assets for friends. You should be pleased scoring as a 'Pawn' - it proves that you are a constructive and contributing member of society. Take Which Chess Piece are You Test? at HelloQuizzy
